Meghan Markle Doubles Down On Aussie Brands On Day One Of The “Royal” Tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveled from sunny Montecito to sunny Melbourne to arrive in Australia on Monday night, eight years after their first overseas trip as newlyweds after their royal wedding. In the years since, the couple have stepped down as senior royals to start a new independent life in California, but they have still lined up a series of charity events for their unofficial trip, which will take them to Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney.

Life may be very different now than when she was last in Australia, but Meghan’s choice of outfit for her first day wasn’t all that different from her original tour uniform: She wore a sleeveless dress by Australian brand Karen Gee (she still wears diplomatic attire even after leaving the palace), paired with Dior shoes and Real Fine Studio jewelry.

Monochrome remains a constant in the Duchess’s public-facing wardrobe: She tends to stick to neutral creams and khakis, a palette she also embraced during the couple’s trip to Jordan earlier this year, when she wore a variety of Veronica Beard looks. The same minimalist style returned, echoing a suede skirt and jacket from another Australian brand, St Agni, which she later chose to visit the Australian National Veterans Art Museum.
