On the 2026 Cannes Red Carpet, the Only Thing Brighter Than the Stars Is Their Jewelry

Stars sparkled on the 2026 Cannes Film Festival red carpet, thanks in large part to their megawatt jewelry. There’s nothing fancy on the Croisette, so attendees are stepping up their game and embracing the allure of over-the-top, show-stopping gems.

Many attendees kept the diamond classic. But as they remind us, classic doesn’t mean boring. Take Demi Moore, for example, who wore a five-tiered marquise-cut diamond necklace (weighing 226.34 carats) to the Cannes opening, while Alia Bhatt caught our attention with an Art Deco-style Sunita Shekhawat choker set with rose-cut diamonds. Colman Domingo reminds us that earrings can be as exciting as a statement necklace; there’s never a single piece that allows women to have all the fun. At the Kering Women in Motion Awards, the actor showed off an expressive pair of Boucheron squid earrings with tentacles wrapped around his cartilage.

Of course, other precious gemstones also perform well. Adriana Lima wore a strapless black gown with a diamond Chopard collar and a 129-carat emerald cabochon in the center, while Laetitia Casta chose a diamond pavé Messika necklace with a gorgeous sapphire pendant.

Additionally, a lot has changed, with many people choosing to embrace gemstones that go far beyond expectations with diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu paired a Saint Laurent burgundy gown with light aqua Paraiba tourmalines from Pomellato; Ruth Negga paired giant Chopard fire opals flanked by amber-orange stones; and Barbara Palvin paired a series of rubies and diamonds with cameo pendants.
