It’s Earth Day and there’s no better time than to get out and touch the grass. Some of fashion’s most treasured pieces, such as the hauntingly fleeting finale dress from McQueen’s spring 2007 show, draw their beauty from their appreciation of nature, which has proven to be a source of solace and inspiration beyond the catwalk.
But the runway is our theme here. The spring 2026 haute couture season is all about organic elements. From cyclamen bouncing around a Dior model’s ears to Chanel’s dreamy mushroom forest, this was a week that quite literally showcased extreme craftsmanship in its most natural habitat. The 2026 Autumn Show continues this narrative with a host of exciting events. These include Miu Miu’s study of boyish utilitarianism, in which a moss-covered runway blended with the dirty fur hems of seemingly tattered dresses and jackets, and Nicolas Ghesquière’s look at Louis Vuitton’s “architectural garments capable of expressing different cultures around the world,” with its sloping green set made of severance pay Surrealist production designer Jeremy Hindle.
