For the table setting, they chose green and blue Ginori plates, black Oaxaca chargers, Belgian linens, French cutlery, and a combination of glass and wood tables anchored by three-foot-tall Metre candles. For calligraphy, they collaborated with Gino Belassen, a friend and fellow Phoenix-based artist and gallerist. Amber Moon took Gino’s designs and transcribed, formatted and printed everything from invitations to caviar spoons, menus, websites, merchandise and more.
“Connor and I are committed to keeping it local and personal,” Mady said. On the food and drink side, they’ve partnered with Bricolage and Star & Bones to reinvent cocktails at Conor Austin’s bar Garage and its restaurant Comedor. They also collaborated with friend and local sommelier Jesse Salazar. The cakes come from Madi’s childhood bakery, Icing on the Cake, in Los Gatos. Their wedding dinner was hosted by Componere. The final touch, Mady said, came from “neon artist and Austin legend” Evan Voyles, who created a custom neon sign using lyrics from Led Zeppelin’s first dance song, “Thank U.”
The two, who were married on October 4, 2025, kicked off the festivities with a Western dinner at the ranch at Starfish Horse Sanctuary on Thursday night and a dinner at Casanova in Carmel-by-the-Sea on Friday night. Madi said the date and time of their wedding was “determined by [her] Astrologer Erin Waage’s conclusions based on our star charts. “
At the rehearsal dinner, Maddi wore a Miu Miu vintage lace dress, Miron Crosby boots, Neil Lane vintage diamond earrings (courtesy of Paster), and then a My Dear Tejas white leather jacket. Maddi changed into a vintage Bill Blass sheer black and white striped dress from Tab Vintage as the couple and their guests went for nightcaps at Bud’s Bar at La Playa Hotel. For beauty, she wanted to “feel like myself” with the help of makeup artists Lauren Gott and Aviva Jansen.
For their wedding couture, Maddie collaborated with her friend, stylist Jessica Pastor. She sent Paster a photo of a dress she liked from Chloé creative director Chemena Kamali’s spring show, and Paster suggested they contact the Chloé team.
“The next thing I knew, I was in their Paris studio, wearing runway samples, designing and performing with Chemena’s incredible team,” says Maddi. There’s a story behind the inspiration for the dress: “When my grandfather first started his car business, he sold a car for a yellow diamond. A few years later, my grandmother found a companion for it and designed a pair of earrings with pearl and scallop pendant details. My grandmother gave them to me and we actually designed the dress with them in mind,” says Maddi.
Meanwhile, Connor wore a custom white peak-collar tuxedo jacket by Tom Ford, paired with John Lobb shoes. Maddie made him cufflinks from abalone shells she found on the beach at Stillwater Bay, where they exchanged vows. They then held a formal ceremony with family and friends. Connor walked into Kris Kristofferson’s “Easier to Love Her (Easier Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again)” and Maddie walked barefoot with their dog Hobbs into Townes Van Zandt’s “To Live Is to Fly.” Their friend John served as their officiant. After the ceremony, they had cocktails and appetizers in Madi’s grandmother’s backyard, then dinner and an afterparty in Barmer.
Months later, Madi says, “People are still talking about the weekend, which means a lot. Friends send us pictures of them using caviar spoons, their business cards still on their dressers, and pictures of themselves wearing the merchandise my mom and I made together. We are still so grateful to my grandmother for officiating our wedding, to all of our wonderful friends and family, and to all of the wonderful artists we worked with on this project.”
