Haute & Freddy Are Pop’s Fabulous New Fashion Freaks

Meanwhile, as much fun as their wonderfully wacky outfits were the fans wearing custom couture in the crowd. (Last night, we saw everything from lace masquerade masks to 18th-century-style satin corsets). “The showgirl look in Toronto was absolutely amazing,” Haute recalls. (Yes, they can see you from the stage and record all the looks.) “I also saw a full-blown Lisa in drag a few nights ago, for our Cabaret-Theme performances. ” Fans even got a spotlight moment during the show: during a performance of the song “Scantily Clad,” the duo brought fans on stage to choose the song with the best design.

With a busy summer of touring and a fan base clearly willing to match their freakiness, it’s safe to say the pop star is quickly rising in the music industry. With just one album out, they’re already gaining fans and may even be releasing new music soon. “When we finish the first leg of the tour, I can’t wait to get in the studio,” Haute joked. “Now, we write lyrics and melodies in the green room so that when we come back, we can turn on the mic and say, ‘let’s go.'”

Even so, the two are getting used to life on the road — and the spotlight. Next up, they’ll soon be heading into this summer’s festival season—they’ll play Chicago’s Lollapalooza next month—as well as festivals in Europe big shame Fall tour. “I’m always trying to find green foods to eat, sleep on, and trust my Capricorn personality to keep me grounded,” says Freddie (a perfect match for Haut’s Taurus). “Honestly, there’s something weirdly therapeutic for me about setting up our gear and then tearing it down,” Haute added of their thriving daily routine. “The universe gave me a complete dream—to be able to do a lot of the things I love to do for fun.”
