While not much is known about the storyline, we do know that the book will roughly follow Blair, who is in his forties, as he returns to New York and climbs a very different social ladder. according to deadlinethe novel will be released in the summer of 2027.

Blair’s ending is very different from the trajectory of both shows. (The 2021 revival frequently mentions the former queen bee, but she doesn’t appear.) After six seasons, the show’s Blair Waldorf is happily married to Chuck Bass, with whom she has a son, Henry Bass. She runs her own successful fashion brand, Waldorf Designs. Then, after a five-year time jump, we see her teaming up with Jenny Humphrey to launch clothing line J for Waldorf. In the book, we don’t get that far: Blair moves beyond her toxic relationship with Nate Archibald and leaves Constance’s drama behind at Yale.

What does the arc of a modern-day Blair Waldorf look like? Perhaps her brand is struggling to keep up with the ever-evolving fashion industry in the age of influencers and algorithms. (And more transparency—a former Waldorf Astoria design intern’s “story time” on TikTok could get nasty.) Maybe she’s tough, and she’s back to being Constance Billard—this time, as principal, turning the school into an elite conduit for power, ambition, and expensive therapy for parents. There could be a Waldorf-Bass political dynasty (and some pretty awesome fundraising), or maybe a Blair Waldorf protégé goes rogue and threatens her carefully crafted legacy.
