Wait. . . What Is Happening With Susan Boyle?

Two days ago, on a quiet and low-key Wednesday afternoon, Susan Boyle posted a shocking slideshow on Instagram around the world.

Okay, that’s dramatic, but the Scottish singer did Grab our attention immediately. Celebrities – people you may remember Britain’s Got TalentIn 2009, she sang ” Les Misérables’s “I Dreamed a Dream” — cleared her Instagram feed and announced that she was entering a new musical chapter. “A new era begins tomorrow,” she wrote in the caption.

In the slideshow? Brand new Boyle: A photo shows her crossing the road wearing a (fabulous) faux fur coat, short blonde hair and oversized sunglasses. She was also seen belting it out in the studio, wearing an equally shocking new look that was reminiscent of what Paris Hilton wore at Fashion Week. (It’s too hot.)

It’s a very different aesthetic than we’ve seen from Boyle. After all, she went viral on the Internet Britain’s Got Talent Because her voice is powerful, but it doesn’t match her cute, prim, proper aesthetic—and these days, she seems to be leaning toward all-out fashion glamour. It was an (unexpected) carnage, and the internet had a completely different take on the transformation. “She looks different and her body is hot,” one X user wrote. Another wrote: “This ‘fashion icon’ image is just too much.”

So, what gives? Interestingly, Boyle’s Instagram caption reads “#ad,” meaning, surely this new look is meant to generate buzz and publicity for one of her upcoming singles (or albums)? Or, is it bigger than this? Could she be the face of a new fashion campaign, or will she appear in the same outfit at an upcoming fashion show? (Call Gucci’s Demna, he loves stunts.) Some have suggested this could be a collaboration with…iconic Italian gelato Cornetto? Our minds race.

Today, however, Boyle followed up on all the discussions and theories online with another cryptic post. This time, she was in the studio wearing a brown velvet tracksuit with “Just One” written on the back. (Again, the blonde bob is bob-ing.) The singer offered more clues: “I heard there’s Susan Boyling in there…and it’s gonna get hotter. Just One is coming out soon xx.”
