In many senses, Naomi Osaka is competing at the 2026 French Open.
Today, in the first round against German player Laura Sigmund, Osaka continued her ace fashion record. This time, she asked Swiss fashion designer Kevin Germanier to create a custom runway look.
Osaka strolled onto the clay courts in an all-black look, with the German deconstructing her past game gear – tennis skirts, jackets and dresses. The Swiss designer created a black sleeveless bodice embellished with intricate beading, paired with a semi-sheer pleated skirt made from the lining of an Osaka jacket.
Beneath her custom runway look, Osaka showed off her equally stylish Nike ensemble: a light brown skirt suit with ruffles, two layers of ruffles and vertically arranged gold sequins in various sizes.
The runway looks were inspired by sportswear and were designed to look effortless. Osaka paired a gauzy black pleated maxi skirt with a sequin-embellished top while posing with Siegmund before the game.

While Osaka has long prioritized style on the court, she has upped the ante for the 2026 Grand Slam. At the 2026 Australian Open in January, she tapped Robert Wun to create a jellyfish-inspired ensemble, paired with flowy white pleated pants and a colorful tie-dye top with flowing tendrils.
Although Naomi Osaka only played one match at Roland Garros, she already won the best-dressed trophy.
