The best brunch in Palm Springs is also the most dog-friendly. But don’t let the concept or name fool you: this all-day cafe is more Dogger Than cunning. The airy atrium interior features soft wood tones, Art Deco furniture and palm fronds, and the menu offers all the hearty breakfast classics (French toast, eggs Benedict) as well as more innovative options like smoked trout Caesar salad and poke toast. Of course, there’s also a menu specifically for furry friends.

For a town where afternoons are spent poolside, great coffee isn’t always within easy reach, but Ernest Coffee offers more than just Stumptown beans, house-made syrups and tangy matcha, all best enjoyed on the sun-dappled patio that extends to its sister bar, Bootlegger Tiki (another must-visit bar).

There’s definitely a line, but these chewy New York-style bagels are well worth the wait. Townie’s bagels are made the old-fashioned way and are a favorite among locals, especially with unexpected flavor options like apple-cranberry, olive-fennel and bacon-cheddar.

In a city where authentic cocktails aren’t always a priority, Seymour’s may be the best bar in Palm Springs. Located inside Mr. Lyons, this speakeasy is dimly lit and old-fashioned, with vintage portraits hanging on the walls and black-and-white film flashing behind the bar. Best of all, it’s equally suitable for a low-key date or a late-night hangout with friends, especially when you step out to the patio to play bocce in the desert air.

While there are plenty of can’t-miss restaurants in Palm Springs, there’s something inherently cinematic about dinner at Copley’s in Palm Canyon, especially since it occupies Cary Grant’s former guest house. Located just off the main road, this almost entirely open-air restaurant has an old-school vibe with flickering candlelight and tables set out under an open sky with mountains hovering in the distance. Still, everything is fun and laid-back enough to not feel too fussy. In the kitchen, chef Andrew Copley draws on experience from London to Hawaii to create dishes like chicken and lemongrass potstickers and crispy wasabi mustard.
