Scene Report: What Design Insiders Wore at Salone del Mobile

I have been traveling to Milan for the Salone del Mobile for a few years now. While the event’s take on design changes every year, the only thing that remains constant is the style of those who travel from far and wide to attend. It’s a week dedicated to design—and not just interiors. Fashion is subtle (logos and bright colors are rare), and the strongest looks are often cleverly put together. Unlike fashion week, Salone is not focused on be seen——This is about see.

No matter where I travel, I’m always inspired by street style, especially salons. These are people who appreciate good design—not because of the brand name or how bold something is—but because of its story, craftsmanship, and structure. This mentality makes this week special. Here are some great examples of design from the streets of Milan to inspire your own spring style.

Practicality at its finest – this will be a must-have for my next trip. Everything is at your fingertips, no hands required. I love that the waistband is at the drawstring of the jacket to accentuate the waist, and that the sweater cuffs are exposed.
