Milan Fashion Week Street Style Was All About the ‘Sciura’

Milan is notorious as a fashion capital, home to many great brands: Prada, Gucci and Bottega Veneta, to name a few. In this city, fashion is so woven into the culture that it goes beyond the runways and into the narrow cobbled streets, where it’s as much a part of the local DNA as Milanese risotto.

But the real star of Milan’s fashion scene isn’t a brand; Siura. An obvious Milanese prototype, Siura She is a wealthy woman of a certain age who embodies a special style of Italian elegance: elegant, eccentric, and impeccably groomed. She loves precise tailoring, bold costume jewelry, silk scarves, trendy sunglasses and tasteful ladylike handbags. Her silhouettes may lean toward the classic, but she’s not afraid of unexpected brooches, sparkly prints, or brightly colored outerwear.

Milan Fashion Week Street Style Looks:

These include a headscarf knotted under the chin, chunky earrings, oversized sunglasses and a playful handbag. Classic styles, such as neat coats or prim skirts, appear in incongruous colors and patterns.
