James Van Der Beek, a small-town teen-turned-actor dawson creek Frequent appearances in series including mercy, CSI: Internet, Pose, How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Bettydied on Wednesday at the age of 48.
Fans around the world learned the news from a post on Van Der Beek’s official Instagram account, which read in part: “Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed away peacefully this morning. He lived his final days with courage, faith and grace.”
Van Der Beek was born in Cheshire, Connecticut in 1977 and performed in theater throughout high school, making her Off-Broadway debut in Edward Albee’s play looking for the sun 1993, at the age of 16. Van Der Beek returned to the stage several times throughout her life (most notably in a 2003 off-Broadway play) rain dance and produced in 2013 Gift at the Geffen Theater in Los Angeles), but his acting chops are not limited by genre, as his performance in “Season Rush” proves dancing with the stars 2019.
