Here’s what other attendees had to say about Jonathan Anderson’s first couture collection for Dior:
Veronika Heilbrunner, content creator, editor and model
I was completely stunned. Blue silk was the first thing that came to my mind – definitely on my wish list. The shapes, the lightness, the flowers – I love how they are turned into earrings and their sculptural elements. It feels so light and easy to wear, which is very contradictory to couture.
Isabel, Dior client from California and New York
This is a delightfully fresh series. I love his interpretation of the brand code and all the colors he used. I see a lot of elements in Monsieur Dior’s designs – especially bows and silhouettes. For example, he respects the silhouette of the Bar jacket. And the texture is very feminine and fun. I can’t wait to see everything up close at Villa Dior on Wednesday.
Lauren Sonit, Dior client from Geneva and New York
I think this is awesome. I love the cuts, the different shapes, and the variations in structure of the garments. The long-sleeved sheer dress with a velvet bow in the front is definitely a piece I have my eye on. Hopefully they’ll line up. I think I’ve stopped wearing completely sheer fabrics this year.
David Martin, Editor-in-Chief of Odda Magazine
To me, Jonathan Anderson’s first collection for Dior screamed of the era of modern fashion and haute couture. His understanding of the past, how he integrated into his vision respect for those who shaped the path of those who came before him, determines the level of talent and attention to detail that should be held in high regard by all of us. It’s amazing and he deserves to be where he is.
Alysha Shahrukh, Dior couture client in San Francisco
