Beyoncé Revives the “Lemonade” Era With an Iconic Dress

It may be hard to believe, but Beyoncé released her groundbreaking visual album a full decade ago, lemonade. To celebrate the special anniversary, the singer dined with daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi in Beverly Hills, wearing a glamorous dress that paid homage to her lemonade era.

The star wore a purple puff-shouldered gown from Saint Laurent’s Spring 2026 collection, which was reminiscent of the flowy dress she wore in the 2016 “Hold Up” video. The original dress was gold and came from Roberto Cavalli, in which she memorably smashed some car windows with a baseball bat, while the updated Saint Laurent dress is equally dramatic and mythical. For true Beyhive fans, this can be considered a fashion move.

Meanwhile, the star accessorized with a giant pearl bag from Cult Gaia, a pearl necklace and chic slingback pumps.

The bigger question here is: Why Did Beyoncé resurrect her? lemonade style? Is this just a cheeky way to celebrate the anniversary of the album, or is there something more to it?

Next week, Beyoncé will serve as co-chair of the 2026 Met Gala, so maybe this is a preview of what’s to come on the steps of the Met Ball. The star is rumored to be releasing a third act sometime this year…could this look also hint at that era? Because one thing about Beyoncé is that she’s always strategic with her style choices—and she never misses a beat.
