Simon Porte Jacquemus Is Staging Fashion Week Show at Picasso Museum

Simon Porte Jacquemus never seemed to meet a lemon, beach umbrella or museum he didn’t like.

To wit: His next show is scheduled for January 25, at the end of the Paris menswear shows and on the eve of Paris Fashion Week, where the designer will return to the Picasso Museum, the site of his spring 2018 “La Bomba” show.

“Simon has a very close relationship with the Picasso Museum and the art world in general,” the brand said in a statement shared exclusively. Women’s Wear Daily. “It was very important to him to build long-term relationships with cultural institutions, as evidenced by the many exhibitions and events we organized at the Palace of Versailles, the Fondation Maggiore and the Malaparte House in Capri.”

In fact, the designer’s show last June saw him return to the Palace of Versailles, this time in its orangery for restoration.

Guests will be sure to appreciate the central location and grandeur of the grounds of the Picasso Museum, a sprawling mansion built between 1656 and 1659 and considered a prime example of Mazarin architecture. The building has rich sculptural decoration, and its grand staircase echoes Michelangelo’s design for the Laurentian Library in Florence.

Jacquemus is known for his cinematic fashion shows, which he has presented in spectacular outdoor locations including lavender fields, salt mines and fields of ripe wheat.

But in January 2025, he changed his tune, opting to hold an exhibition for just 40 people in architect Auguste Perret’s private Paris apartment, an Art Deco gem with oak paneling and concrete columns.
