Nudity is king at the 2026 Golden Globes.
This year, celebrities have offered different explanations for the shameful but ongoing trend. Jennifer Lawrence – Nominated tonight for her role in “The Movie” die my love—Walked the carpet in a sheer Givenchy dress by Sarah Burton. The nude mesh dress was artfully embroidered with pale pink flowers and sage green leaves, which bloomed around her body and hem. Lawrence also wore a pale pink satin shawl that covered her back – although she threw it away as she walked up the stairs.

Jennifer Lopez and Justin Lupe also got the sheer memo. Lopez chose a Jean-Louis Scherrer gown by Stephane Rolland: a nude mesh turtleneck with brown swirl appliqués that flowed into her tulle mermaid skirt. Lupe, meanwhile, left little to the imagination in a nude tiered Armani Privé Couture dress with beaded fringe from Fall 2021.
But there are other explanations for nude clothing that don’t involve mesh. Jenna Ortega shows how to achieve a military-inspired silhouette on the red carpet in a shimmering black dress from Dilara Findikoglu’s Spring 2026 collection. Despite her high neck, Ortega showed off plenty of skin with a side cutout that showcased some tasteful sideboob and low-slung hips.

Teyana Taylor, meanwhile, also went the cutout route, wearing a black Schiaparelli dress that draped over her body. While it was already sexy, she also had a party in the back by adding a rhinestone-encrusted bow at the back.
The 2026 Golden Globes proved it: naked clothing isn’t going away. But how will this trend evolve over the next year? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
