When it comes to packing everyday essentials into your wallet, Alexandra Leclerc is a bit like a modern-day Mary Poppins. “My bags are usually much smaller and I like very small bags – ones that are very impractical and can’t carry anything,” she told Fashion. Still, she managed, taking a comb, lip balm, snacks and a small notebook with her whenever she left home. Carrying a larger Jacquemus Turisimo raffia shoulder bag only adds to the possibilities.
For Leclerc, no object is too small or too frivolous. Many of them are sentimental, like a pair of miniature mannequins dressed in the clothes she and her now-husband, Charles Leclerc, wore to their engagement party, or a business card bearing her new full name on their civil wedding table. There are also mini confetti cakes bought from her friend’s store in Monaco (a must-have for her daily 4pm snack) and a series of mini carousels (yes, really). Oh, and she always has Rod blush on her face. Perhaps most importantly: a lint roller to pick up the fluffy golden coat of the couple’s beloved miniature dachshund, Leo. (He takes them everywhere he can, and as a result she mostly doesn’t wear black anymore.) Pretty standard stuff indeed. “I think I only brought the bare minimum,” Leclerc said.
