As one of the co-chairs of the 2026 Met Gala, Nicole Kidman was one of the most eye-catching stars on the steps of the Met tonight.
Over the past few years, Kidman has understood the mission, carefully considering themes and dress codes—whether it’s new Balenciaga or vintage Chanel—and in 2026, the star chose to wear a custom Chanel outfit by Matthieu Blazy. “I’ve been associated with Chanel for decades,” Kidman said Fashion. “At this stage in my life, it’s wonderful to have Mathieu’s designs.”
Designed by Jason Bolden, the look included a sequined gown (which took 800 hours to be crafted by the skilled hands of Chanel’s ateliers) with feathers at the hip and cuffs, all in a deep red hue, an ode to love and New York. “Red always jumps out of the page for me,” says Jason Bolden, Kidman’s stylist. “When you think of most paintings, red is a vibrant color – it attracts people.” Her jewelry? Chanel too, of course. The lapis lazuli ring is particularly eye-catching and adds a gorgeous pop of blue.

The star, who was joined by her daughter Sunday Rose, made her Met Gala debut in a sweet pink Dior outfit. “My daughter is blooming and her outfit shows it,” Kidman said.
In terms of accessories, Kidman wore a 1982 Omega “Manhattan” watch from a special collection. This model is made of 18-carat white and yellow gold and is set with 34 diamonds on the bezel, 178 diamonds on the bracelet and 12 diamonds on the hour markers. (224 diamonds in total.)
To showcase Kidman’s beauty, makeup artist Gucci Westman and hairstylist Adir Abergel created a top-notch look. “For Nicole and [her daughter] This is Sunday Rose’s first Met Gala together and I wanted to create something that truly paid tribute to their beautiful red carpet moments,” Abergel said. “I love them both and creating these looks for them was so special. I wanted the hair to be that quiet, unspoken thread that connects them – woven through femininity, strength and artistry, while still allowing their respective expressions to shine. “
