The Best Met Gala Jewelry—A 550-Carat Tanzanite! Beyoncé’s Crown!

With a guest list that included Isha Ambani, Lauren Sanchez and Anne Hathaway, the Met Gala red carpet is always sparkling, but this year, the carats got closer to spectacle. To celebrate the “Art of Costume” exhibition, attendees decisively chose personalized jewelry; some so outstanding that they required vigilant security.

It’s a night out with a statement necklace. Emily Blunt – fresh from The Devil Wears Prada 2 During the tour, she paired it with a $500,000 Mikimoto body necklace to create the most ingenious pearl jewelry. Considering her co-star Anne Hathaway’s long-standing allegiance to Bulgari, it’s no surprise to see her once again draped in the Roman court – wearing a gold laurel-inspired necklace.

Meanwhile, Met Gala co-chair Venus William chose to wear dazzling crystals. For the Swarovski look, she wore a neck armor she custom designed with symbols representing her life, like Los Angeles’ Watts Towers — a nod to her California roots. Meanwhile, Sudha Reddy wore a giant necklace worth $15 million from her personal collection (flex), set with a 550-carat deep purple-blue tanzanite.

Always minimalist, Hailey Bieber added a subtle classical touch to her look with Belperron’s famous Virgin Gold collection rings and ear clips, whose soft sheen recalled the high-carat tones of classical Greek decoration and subtly echoed the exhibition’s dialogue between fashion and art.
