What followed was a brief transition during which Joshua Henry currently stars in a revival at Lincoln Center Theatre. Ragtime–Prior to the closing ceremony, an excerpt from Walt Whitman’s “I Sing the Electricity of the Body”: a performance by Stevie Nicks is read.

After walking the carpet wearing custom jewelry by John Galliano for Zara and Tiffany & Co., Nicks ended the night with a four-song set. Wearing a vintage Morgane LeFay dress and Margi Kent jacket, she sang Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 hit “Landslide” with Carpenter, then performed “Gypsy” and “Edge of Seventeen” solo before singing “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow” with assistance from Carpenter and the 12-piece choir. Keep our wild hearts alive!
Henry kicked off the night in high-profile style on the red carpet. Wearing a scarlet Bode suit, he opened the 2026 Met Gala with the song “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” accompanied by a 12-piece choir, eight dancers and a four-piece band.
He began the song in a gallery of Greek and Roman sculptures, then entered the lunar paradise that is now the Met Gala lobby, then walked onto a carpet surrounded by colorful wisteria curtains.
