The arrival of New York Bridal Fashion Week last week resulted in a dramatic increase in lace, tulle and taffeta across the city. With more runways, presentations and previews of Spring 2027 collections than ever before, it’s clear that the bridal market has undergone a major shift over the past few years. Not only are designers vying for time in their crowded schedules to showcase their latest wedding dresses, but as more brides-to-be seek out “something hand-me-down” for their wedding wardrobes, many vintage bridal retailers are also making their mark on the scene. Despite being both old and new in their approach to the market, the latest bridal collections showcase an impressively broad portfolio of designs to wear throughout the wedding weekend.
While some designers turn to classic structures and materials to create timeless looks, others push the envelope with edgy ensembles that are perfect for non-traditional brides looking to shake up their wardrobe. The entire spectrum of wedding weekends is also considered, with plenty of styles that can work perfectly at a chic rehearsal dinner or brunch the next day. There’s also an increase in cuts and separates this season for those who might not want to wear a dress on the red carpet, or who could use some fun twists on their after-party looks.
