Yangon ——Representatives from China and India will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the president.
The Indian Embassy announced that Mr. Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Yangon on April 8 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Myanmar.
Upon arrival in Yangon, Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister for External Affairs of the Government of India, was welcomed by Indian Ambassador Mr. Abhay Thakur and Director-General of the Ministry of External Affairs Zaw Phyo Win.
During his visit to Myanmar, Foreign Minister Singh will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Myanmar, meet with senior officials of the Myanmar government, and meet with Indian friends, including Indians.
Chinese President Xi Jinping’s special envoy Zhang Xinzhi will also attend the inauguration of the Myanmar president, Xinhua News Agency reported.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on April 9 that at the invitation of Myanmar, President Xi Jinping’s special envoy and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Zhang Xinzhi will attend the presidential inauguration ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw on April 10.
At the federal parliament session on April 10, the elected president and vice-president, as well as those appointed to federal-level organizations, will be sworn in before the speaker of the federal parliament.
