Paris Fashion Week is always “fashion within fashion” – and this season is no different. While the talk of the town might be Matthieu Blazy’s second Chanel collection, or more importantly, the accessories that just arrived, it’s the street-style ensembles that really steal the show, incorporating spring’s most beloved elegant wardrobe essentials. from fashion magazine Lisa Aiken becomes supermodel (and British Fashion Cover star) Bhavitha Mandava is here to give you her spring outfit inspiration—from fresh color stories in cobalt blue and royal purple to playful pattern pairings (polka dots and stripes, to be exact).
Street style highlights from Paris Fashion Week:
Unsurprisingly, the mood in Paris was more subdued than among their fashion week counterparts. Crisp shirting, lightweight knits, and even simple denim rule the city’s historic cobbled streets, setting the tone for the season ahead with subtle elegance. So is branding at the center of it all? (Except Chanel, of course.) Celine. Gorgeous silk scarves were knotted around the neck, bold buckle belts were tucked into jeans, and Crayola-colored drawstring pouches were clutched by the fashion’s early adopters.
Elsewhere, some eye-catching looks strayed from the Parisian’s natural tendency toward simplicity. Dynamics and textures like fringe, tweed and suede, as well as cool color-blocking techniques and clever print clashes, courtesy of Dries Van Noten’s bold striped sweaters paired with polka dot pareos. When it comes to accessories, spring continues to trend in red (Aiken’s everyday clutch is a highlight), and there’s a shift away from practical flats to polished heels, like the pair below from The Row, Balenciaga and Prada.
takeout? The month-long fashion extravaganza may be over, but spring outfit inspiration has just begun. Here are the most stylish looks from Paris Fashion Week—and how to recreate them now. goodbye!
