The brand announced on March 12 that Etro creative director Marco De Vincenzo would step down after nearly four years in the role. A successor has not yet been announced.
Etro said the decision was reached by mutual consent, with the company saying in a press release on Thursday that the move was “in line with the brand’s new strategic phase.”
The founding family previously exited the company after a group of investors led by Rams Global (along with Swinger International’s Mathias Facchini and SRI Group’s Giulio Gallazzi) bought Etros’ minority stake in the brand in December 2025. Prior to this, L Catterton (which also owns majority stakes in Ganni, APC and other companies) acquired a majority stake in Etro in July 2021 and has retained it to this day. The brand’s CEO, Fabrizio Cardinali, was appointed following the acquisition of L Catterton in 2021.
De Vincenzo, who joined from Fendi in June 2022, is fascinated by Etro’s iconic patterns and codes, leaning towards the minimalism that the brand was built on. He tells us about his latest and final Fall/Winter 2026 collection fashion show: “The boho side of it is back, colorful, maximalist, a little crazy.”
Now, brand owners are looking for a new direction. “Etro expresses its gratitude to Marco De Vincenzo for his dedication, professionalism and creative contribution over the years and wishes him the best for his future projects.” “The brand now looks to future developments with confidence, continuing its journey to enhance its lifestyle identity and creative heritage, continuing the innovation and values that have always distinguished it.”
