Is it weird that I love packing? I’m not talking about outfit planning (which is stressful), but the actual physical act of it: trying it on, folding it, rolling it up – like a game of Tetris. Almost everything comes in some kind of designated bag, especially shoes. They have to be stuffed with socks and wrapped in paper before being put into their own cloth dust bags – they can’t touch my clothes! I never go anywhere without my Alex Mill tote, which is a giant nesting doll. On any given trip, it holds my lunch, a tote bag that I can’t fold flat, my ski helmet, all of my jewelry (stored in its bag, of course), and probably extra shoes that I can’t fit in my carry-on. I am one of them [insert your own adjective] Someone who loves to work out on vacation so I always have to leave room somewhere for my running shoes…
