Fathers know best – just ask Renate Rainsway and Stellan Skarsgård.
Today in Cannes, Reinsweird recently graced the Croisette for the premiere of director Cristian Mungiu’s new film, fjord— swapped her sleek asymmetrical Louis Vuitton column gown for something more masculine. On Instagram, the actor posted a photo of herself wearing a gray double-breasted Ami Paris suit, a striped raw silk shirt and a matching tie that was slightly reminiscent of Julia Roberts.
But Rainswei wasn’t wearing any suit: she had borrowed it from Skarsgård. This time last year, the pair attended Joachim Trier’s festival sentimental value, In it they play a father and daughter, Gustav and Nora Borg. This time, Skarsgård returns as a member of the festival’s jury, while Reinsoff joins forces with fjord. Interestingly, costume changes are becoming an unexpected tradition at film festivals, following last year’s much-talked-about costume changes between Julia Roberts and Amanda Seyfried Versace.
Although their on-screen characters may have a complicated relationship, Renate Rainsway and Stellan Skarsgård are clearly as close as ever — close enough to share clothes.
