With each passing year – and each new season Emily in Paris——Lily Collins reminds us that she and her character are actually very different. While the eccentric Emily Cooper never met a pattern she didn’t like, Collins’ own tastes are more grounded and earthy.
Today she issued another kind reminder in her low-key off-duty mom style. While walking around London with husband Charlie McDowell, Collins opted for a distressed leather jacket from Acne Studios with a stand-up collar for an extra layer of effortless cool, worn underneath an olive green knitted turtleneck. Her breezy lower half – a pair of off-white cargo pants and taupe Adidas Spezial sneakers – added a welcome touch of contrast, while a black quilted Chanel 25 bag was the perfectly polished finishing touch.
This isn’t the first time Collins has subverted the combination of unisex clothing and feminine It-bags. Last August, when filming emily in parisFor the fifth season in Italia, the actor opted for a gray drawstring chore coat from Uniqlo, a khaki button-down top, black joggers and her handy Adidas Spezials, which she accessorized with an oversized Balenciaga City bag.
