Country music singer-songwriter and yellowstone park Star Lainey Wilson’s adorable encounter with NFL quarterback-turned-entrepreneur Devlin “Duck” Hodges could have been a scene from her hit Taylor Sheridan show. The two went on a blind date in 2021. After dinner, they had a chemical reaction and ended up going to a bar. “We went to a place on the water in Nashville called Moby Dicky’s, and then to Silverado’s,” Lenny recalled. Lenny won the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Country Album and his Netflix documentary ” Lenny Wilson: Keeping Country Cool, dropped last month. “We’ve been inseparable ever since,” she added.
After four years of dating, Duck took Lenny to iconic country singer and songwriter George Jones’ famed estate in Franklin, Tennessee, and proposed to her at the door in February 2025. “He decorated the wedding with rose petals and photos of the two of us from the past five years,” Lenny recalled. “We love George Jones and he knew it meant a lot to me to do this on George’s front porch.”
More than a year later, in May 2026, the wedding took place at Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee. “Dak and I were driving down the back roads in Tennessee when we saw a billboard for Ruskin Cave,” Lenny explains. “Duck said, ‘Do you want to get married there?’ I said, ‘Deal. “We stopped by to visit the grounds and fell in love with the cave’s natural beauty and simple architecture.”
Lenny knew from the beginning of the planning process that she wanted the wedding to represent the warmth of her and Duck as a couple. The couple worked with Hugh Howser and Kate Steele and H Three Events to bring their vision to life. “We wanted it to be special and beautiful, but also very welcoming and comfortable for our guests,” she said. “We try not to take ourselves too seriously. Being from Louisiana, I wanted to bring in a little bit of Cajun style, so naturally we hired a 12-piece jazz band called Rebirth and had Cajun meals prepared by the chefs at my Bell Bottoms Up bar.”
Considering the bride, known for her denim flares, almost never wears a dress, she knew her wedding look had to be special. Enter her stylist Alexandra Mandelkorn and her team of Oscar de la Renta. They worked together to create a custom look that was totally Lenny-esque, with tiny Japanese cherry blossoms scattered around the neckline. “Sakura represents living in the moment, and that’s exactly what we do,” explains Lenny.
Duck wears a custom suit by D. Lacquaiti; a custom bolo shirt, cufflinks and hat pins designed in collaboration with Mud Lowery; custom boots by Golden West Boots; and a cowboy hat by Charlie 1 Horse—all designed by friend Raina Gir.
The ceremony took place on Sunday, May 10, on a cobblestone ledge at the foot of the falls. “You could hear the water flowing and the birds singing, and we enjoyed the lovely spring breeze,” recalls Lenny. “I arrived in a white carriage and walked down the aisle with my Deddy and Duck to the altar.” The couple were married by Wes Williams, Lenny’s friend and mentor, and received Holy Communion together during the ceremony in front of family and friends.
“I’ve never seen Dak smile as much as he did,” Lenny admitted. “Turning the page to the next chapter of our marriage makes me giddy. We are both eager to say ‘I do!'”
After the ceremony, Rey performed the song “Where’s My Husband!” ” Music blared as the newlyweds walked hand in hand down the aisle, before legendary New Orleans band Rebirth Brass Band led everyone in a second line into cocktail hour. “It was such a great feeling to have a Louisiana home in Tennessee,” Lenny recalled.
After the cocktail hour, they marched again to the cave where the reception was being held. “My mom led a dinner prayer for all our guests, and we had a wonderful evening enjoying good food, good company, and great music,” recalls Lenny. “Our family and friends know how to have a good time and the dance floor was packed all night. To end a perfect night, Duck and I followed the band through the fireworks and the send-off procession of cheering loved ones, climbed into an old white Ford truck, and drove away!”
