Kimi was founded by Yang Zhilin, who was named to Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 list in 2021. Kimi’s existing backers include Chinese technology giants Alibaba and Tencent. According to data from OpenRouter, its K2.6 model ranks among the top three most popular AI models in the world.
