including a Golf course near Hanoi in northern Vietnamthe project has received some bad press as local farmers will allegedly be evicted from their land if the project goes ahead.

Australian hotel design is said to be similar to 47th floor Trump Tower in JeddahSaudi Arabia, although much higher.

Altus said the project will include a “six-star resort hotel”, 270 apartments, shops, a beach club and a swimming pool, Altus Property Group said in a statement.

“Australia’s tallest building will be Trump Tower in the heart of Surfers Paradise, which is great for Queensland’s tourism industry and great for Australia,” the company said.

“It won’t have the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton branding above the front door, but it will say ‘Trump.’ That means it’s a building of the highest quality possible regardless of cost — the best building in the world.”

The project marks the first time the brand has been used in an Australian hotel, according to the Trump Hotels website.

“This landmark building will be Australia’s tallest tower, redefining seaside sophistication with world-class facilities, iconic design and uninterrupted Gold Coast views,” it said.

Altus chief executive David Young said he had been developing the project for nearly 20 years and made a phone call to Ivanka Trump in 2007 to promote Trump’s resort as “Australia’s finest tourism property”.

Yang said the final agreement was signed with the Trump Organization on Feb. 14 at Mar-a-Lago. The company is currently “deep in the design, engineering, construction and fit-out process.”

He said the building would be Australian-owned and built in Australia to the Trump Company’s design requirements.

Prices for apartments in the tower could start at $5 million, he said.
