Dhaka – Tariq took the stage at the madrassa venue at 1:54 pm, accompanied by his wife Zubaida Rahman. Earlier, at 1:18 p.m., he visited the shrine of Shah Makhdoum (right).

As he took to the podium, party leaders and activists welcomed him waving party flags and chanting slogans. Tariq raised his hand to greet the crowd.

He arrived at Rajshahi Airport at 12:20 noon and then took a red and green bus to the rally venue.

Along the way, party leaders and activists lined the roads to welcome him, while many local residents gathered on the rooftops of nearby buildings to catch a glimpse of the BNP chief.

Tariq greeted supporters from inside the bus as it lumbered through the crowded streets.

His journey was delayed due to a large number of supporters on the road. Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel were deployed to provide security during the parade.

The Rajshahi rally officially started at 1:20 pm with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Earlier, at 1:00 pm, the national anthem and the party anthem of the BNP were played.

Prayers were also offered for Khaleda Zia and those who had lost their lives in various political movements over the past 17 years.
