Jennifer Lawrence, a well-known champion of the “pop of red” and “pop of blue” styling techniques, kicked off 2026 in a bold way, wearing a cold-weather ensemble with royal purple accents.
Bracing for subzero temperatures in New York City on Monday, the actor wore a chunky black puffer jacket, a red V-neck sweater, gray wide-leg pants and a pair of sand-colored Ugg boots, and accessorized the look with her accessories: a ladylike burgundy crocodile Hermès Bolide tote, stylish black wraparound sunglasses and a statement scarf.
By the end of 2025, Fashion Expect to see “vibrant purple” trending in the new year, and with 2026 just a few days away, it seems celebrities are getting in on the fun too. In December, Zoë Kravitz stepped out on the streets of Rome with Harry Styles, her arm wrapped around his bicep and a purple scarf wrapped around her neck. Now, Lawrence has followed suit with a vibrant and functional accessory.
While purple may seem difficult to wear (actually a lot of), the stars went all out. Late last year, Colman Domingo wore a vibrant Bode ensemble, Greta Lee opted for a violet Colleen Allen dress at the New York Film Festival, and Julia Roberts hit the 2025 Gotham Awards carpet in a bold Tom Ford suit.
So whether it’s a simple scarf like Jennifer Lawrence or Zoë Kravitz or a statement piece like Colman Domingo and Greta Lee, give purple a try in 2026.
