Bad Bunny strikes a nerve, not a heartstring, after touching an artifact on display at Mexico City’s Archaeological Museum.
On Saturday, Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) publicly denounced the musician for allegedly placing his hand on a stele, a stone carving central to Mayan culture. The Puerto Rican singer, whose full name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, according to INAH and fans, posted a photo on Instagram showing a hooded figure (presumably himself) touching artifacts at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. As first reported allergicthe post appears to have been deleted.
“It is well known that physical contact with archaeological properties is prohibited,” INAH said in a statement, adding that security guards repeatedly warned the musician to keep his distance from the displays.
“When the artist placed his hands on the monuments, museum security reiterated that the monuments could not be touched,” the statement said.
Bad Bunny is currently preparing for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show. His latest album, More photos of Debbie Tillarone of the most popular albums of 2025; the accompanying tour was also well received.
