Riverside Natural Foods said in a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that certain MadeGood granola bars sold nationwide by retailers including Amazon and Walmart are being recalled because they may contain metal fragments.

The Chicago-based manufacturer said the piece of metal could pose a safety hazard if eaten.

Specific products recalled include: Chocolate Chip Granola Bars, Mixed Berry Granola Bars, Strawberry Granola Bars, Cookies & Cream Granola Bars, Chocolate Banana Granola Bars , Chocolate Drizzle Birthday Cake Granola Bars, Chocolate Drizzle Cookie Crumb Granola Bars and Chocolate Drizzle Vanilla Granola Bars. The recalled granola bars were manufactured between January and November and sold in the United States, Canada and internationally. The company said Riverside investigated and discovered an issue in its manufacturing process, which has since been resolved.

Consumers who purchased the recalled chocolate bars should return them for a refund. Customers with questions can call Riverside at 855-215-5695 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
