Growing up, Cara Delevingne always knew she wanted to be a musician. She learned to play the piano and drums early on and dreamed of one day writing and performing her own songs. By the time she was a teenager, she slowly began to do just that—even if her introspective lyrics would never see the light of day.
“I was in a few bands during school, but whenever it came to a song I wrote, I’d lock myself in the bathroom and play it because I just didn’t want anyone to hear it,” Delevingne said. “They’re always there for me.”
Although her interest in making music never really went away, life took Delevingne in a different direction. Starred in a Fashion An editorial for Italia when she was 10 led to her signing with Storm Model Management at 15, and from there she quickly rose to the top of the industry. In the 2010s, she became a regular on the runways of brands like Burberry and Chanel (even becoming a muse for the late Karl Lagerfeld); appeared on countless covers; and then launched an acting career, starring in films such as Paperweight and suicide squad before her west end debut Cabaret 2024.
But now, Delevingne is rekindling her first love.
This morning, Delevingne released two singles – “I Forgot” and “Out of My Head” – in a seven-minute joint music video, introducing fans to her unique voice and perspective as a recording artist. The surreal cinematic video, directed by Jessica Lee Gagné, sees Delevingne make a bold move by combining her vulnerable lyrics with a twisted electronic feel, all wrapped in a psychedelic short film. Delevingne herself best described her feelings: “You’ve got one chance to show up, so you might as well make it glam.”
And this is just the beginning. With a tour set to begin in June and her full-length album set to be released later this summer via Warner Records, Delevingne is fully committed to her next chapter. “I wanted this album to feel like a rebirth—like a fresh start,” she says.

Fashion: I’d love to hear in the first place why now is the perfect time to start making music again. I’ve heard you’ve always dabbled in it, but this feels like a complete commitment.
