Kuala Lumpur – At the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, His Majesty King Ibrahim Sultan of Malaysia sets out for Moscow ahead of Russia’s Victory Day celebrations on May 9.
According to the King’s Facebook post, His Majesty’s private jet took off from the Royal Hangar at Senai International Airport at 8am yesterday.
According to Bernama, the special invitation from the Russian president reflects the high importance Moscow attaches to Malaysia.
Present at the Royal Hangar to bid farewell to His Majesty were Tunku Idris Iskandar Haji Sultan Ibrahim of Johor and Tunku Putra Abubakar Haji Sultan Ibrahim of Johor.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Ong Hafiz Ghazi, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hasan Basri, and Johor police chief Datuk Abrahaman Arsad were present.
Members of the Johor State Executive Council and state government officials were also present.
