Sabrina Carpenter is. . .Sabrina At the 2026 Met Gala. The “Manchild” singer hit the carpet wearing a custom Dior slit tulle dress by Jonathan Anderson. The look pays homage to Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 film SabrinaThis is further emphasized by the full-body wrap of rhinestone film strips. (If you zoom in, maybe you can see Humphrey Bogart and William Holden in the movie stills, too.)
This year has been a special moment for the singer. Not only is she headlining Coachella (as she’s said she’ll do in 2025), but she’s also attending tonight’s event as a member of the host committee alongside other superstars including Teyana Taylor, Doja Cat, Lisa, Misty Copeland, and more.
Carpenter has attended the Met Gala four times now, but she has yet to create a signature look. Instead, she’s a wild card, keeping her fans guessing about what’s going to happen next. Of course, this is by design. “My look is completely different every year,” she told Fashion This precedes last year’s event. She made her debut on In America: A Fashion Anthology in 2022, wearing a gold two-piece by Rabanne that consisted of a shimmering bikini top and high-waisted skirt.
In 2024, she chose a black mermaid gown by Oscar de la Renta that featured a blue cloud. Last year, Carpenter went all-in on a “made-for-you” dress code, wearing a Louis Vuitton pinstripe “bodysuit” look. The silhouette is also reminiscent of Lisa’s Louis Vuitton blazer and sheer tights. (Perhaps it’s a godsend that they are both members of this year’s host committee.)
If last year’s look was that of a global pop star, tonight’s look was that of a young Hollywood star – Sabrina Carpenter is two sides of the same sartorial coin.
