Ashley Graham is back after hitting the red carpet last year wearing a custom power suit by Boss. At this year’s 2026 Met Gala, she took a completely different route.
Through this year’s exhibition, “Clothing Art” Focusing on how art depicts clothing and the body throughout, the model turned to Greek designer Dimitra Petsa of Di Petsa to create her eye-catching gliding look—one that’s sure to turn heads when she hosts the night’s livestream. Needless to say, Di Petsa is known for her signature “wet dresses,” which hug the body in all the right places and will no doubt help models rise to the occasion.
For tonight’s look, Di Petsa and Graham looked to the designer’s Fall 2026 collection and his “Serpent Skin” dress as a starting point. The team took the task very seriously and hand-sewn the garment, considering it would be Graham’s “second skin.” all Models are dressed by hand. The result is an illusion nude mesh gown with snakeskin-inspired draping technology that mimics a snake’s scales. Graham designed this look with a wild card: the silver chrome hands pay homage to the artists who tirelessly dedicated their lives and hands to create the beautiful sculptures in the museum tonight.
It’s a big night for Petsa, not only because Graham will be wearing one of her creations for people to see at home, but also because it’s also the first time she’s worn one of her creations on fashion’s biggest night. “I have always admired Ashley’s intelligence and beauty, and it was a dream to dress her for such an important moment,” Pesha said. “For me, this is my first Met Gala.”
