Love is a wonderful thing, especially when you look at it from the outside. In this column, we look at the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures, while we try to make sense of our own from their well-documented relationships.
Let’s be honest: There’s still a small part of me still mourning the relationship between Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum. What can I say? I love weird, beautiful artsy girls and handsome, playful silly dudes. “Couple You Can’t Believe Are Together” by Marcello Hernández and Jane Wickline from saturday night live. That said, Tatum and Kravitz are calling it quits in 2024, so now is the time to fully support Kravitz’s new fiancé, Harry Styles.
To be clear, it’s not hard to root for Kravitz and Styles: They’re both incredibly sexy, their coordinated couple style is unparalleled, and I happen to be the world’s biggest supporter of their respective projects, which I feel didn’t get the pop culture credibility they deserved at the time. (rough night and don’t worry darling They’re all great movies, okay? )
Somewhat paradoxically for a nosy person like me, I’m also glad that I know so little about Kravitz and Styles’ relationship. They were first photographed kissing in London in August 2025, and Taylor Swift, herself an authority on the pain of love, seemed to give her blessing to their union. (Keep in mind that Swift and Styles were once a thing, but her friendship with Kravitz—expressed in things like lending Kravitz and her mother, Lisa Bonet, a home to her during the Los Angeles fires—seemed to come first. Respect.)
Kravitz and Styles have both had to deal with the drama that comes with navigating a relationship in the public eye over the years, so it’s perhaps no surprise that they’ve kept their eight-month courtship fairly low-key. After all, I get a little wary every time a celebrity starts doing like Tom Cruise (remember that?) and metaphorically hopping on the couch to talk about how the woman he’s currently dating has irrevocably changed his life and made him a better man. Maybe there’s something to be said for the quietly luxurious approach to celebrity-on-celebrity romance; after all, as Bonnie Raitt once sang, “Don’t advertise your man.”
Styles certainly seems to have learned a lot about love since her brief relationship with Swift. In 2016, the singer and actor told rolling stones After dealing with the songstress, “Relationships at any age are hard. And, when you’re 18 and you don’t really understand how it works — trying to navigate all this stuff — it doesn’t make it any easier. I mean, you’re a little awkward at first. You’re dating someone you really like. It should be that simple, right? It’s definitely been a learning experience.” Personally, I just love the idea that a decade of time and life experience led Styles directly to Kravitz.
