The Met Gala is fashion’s favorite spectator sport. That night, the guests are “players” and their “stats” are the number of times they’ve participated, what they’ve worn, and the provenance of their clothes. Of course, models are always the star of the party—after all, they are professionals and known for their eye-candy looks. Since it never gets old to look back at their past attendance, we created a sort of Met Gala model “database.”
In this book, you’ll see Christy Turlington attending her first Met appearance, back in 1992, wearing a black Versace column and pearls around her neck, looking like a later Holly Golightly. Also included: Naomi Campbell on the red carpet in an Azzedine Alaïa dress she wore on the designer’s runway (2017); Gisele Bündchen in a fringed embroidered raspberry bias-cut scarf gown (2006); Kate Moss in Calvin (1995); Liu Wen in Saint Laurent The black chiffon beauty (2024) shows elegance. The collection covers links to some of the eye-popping outfits that debuted on the catwalk from the ’90s to today. enjoy!
