The rest of the actor-filmmaker’s look was similarly dutiful and nonchalant: She wore a blue-and-white Breton striped crew neck and long sleeves, high-waisted black jeans fastened with a brown belt buckle, and latte-colored ankle boots. She accessorized with a pair of aviator sunglasses, blue drop earrings and a peace sign pendant necklace. Surprisingly, Katie isn’t a wireless headphone girl, instead she’s wearing some canary yellow Beats wireless headphones.

It was a more minimalist look for Holmes, who hit the red carpet at the American Image Awards earlier this week. She wore a custom-made tuxedo by Gap Studio and a pair of patent leather black glove-style shoes designed by contemporary shoemaker Herbert Levine. Never one to miss a trend in accessories or footwear, Holmes ushered in the return of shoes with high vamps that avoid cracked toes.
