When in Rome, follow the example of Dakota Johnson.
It’s a lesson Jesse Buckley seems to have taken to heart. The two actors will next co-star in Alice Rohrwacher’s film over the weekend Three sisters incest— tied together in Rome, where everyone opted for a different recipe for the same warm-weather clothing.
Johnson kept her style simple, wearing a light blue satin midi dress, black ballet flats and a navy sweater slung over her shoulders. She added some visual interest with accessories, including a crimson purse, a sculptural silver pendant and a pair of round metal-framed sunglasses.
Buckley, on the other hand, went for an all-out minimalist fashion fantasia. She wore an Erdem midi skirt with polka dots in various sizes, paired with a heavily patterned plaid shirt. (Her daughter Isla, who tied her chest, also wore a pair of floral pants and a sweet black patterned headscarf to get the memo.) Like Johnson, Buckley also opted for flats instead of walking sneakers, opting for a pair of red Mary Janes. She completed her look with a pastel pink headscarf and square sunglasses.
In Dakota Johnson’s more streamlined look and Jessie Buckley’s power clash, the two actors reminded us that there are countless ways to interpret a breezy skirt (or dress) and flats.
