Is there any wardrobe dilemma more complicated than finding the perfect wedding guest dress? I imagine meeting your partner’s extended family for the first time can be tricky, and then knowing you’re going to run into your ex at a party, it’s not exactly a walk in the park sartorially speaking. However, I think weddings trump them all because there are few other occasions where you can meet your partner’s extended family in the church pews in the morning and then run into your ex in the evening while drinking themed cocktails and listening to 90s pop. Tell me about a piece of clothing that can do both, handle wildly changing temperatures over an eight-hour period, and still feel comfortable after eating a few mini fish and chips. Anyone? I don’t think so.

Another problem I personally have is that with so many options on the market it can feel a bit… boring? In many ways, the wedding guest dress landscape (especially those in the affordable category) is stuck in a time warp, and, like the world of wedding gowns, it’s primed to be disrupted.
