4 of The Most Flattering Nail Colors For Mature Hands

When it comes to skin and body care, it’s easy to overlook your hands. As we age, our skin naturally loses elasticity, becoming drier, thinner, and more prone to discoloration and scarring. We put our hands on them so much, it’s no wonder they tend to show signs of dehydration very quickly.

A good hand care routine (a good hand cream, using exfoliants designed to improve skin texture (such as glycolic and lactic acid), and always wearing gloves when washing or gardening) can make a big difference. The same goes for the right color of nail polish.

“The right color can really make a difference,” explains nail expert Ambra Toccacieli. “It brightens hands, evens out skin tone, and instantly restores a fresh, well-cared-for look.” While nail color always comes down to personal choice and skin tone, Tocasieri shares her tips for flattering colors to keep in mind.

To minimize traces

“When there’s spotting or discoloration (skin or nail color changes), I stay away from nail polishes with yellow or orange undertones because they tend to amplify contrast,” says Tocaccielli. A more harmonious palette of pastel nudes, cool beiges, delicate fuchsias and creamy whites can make skin look brighter and more even.
