Tonight, the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards kick off what promises to be an eventful awards season (coming soon: the Golden Globes, the Actors Awards, and finally the highly anticipated Oscars in March). Hollywood’s finest stars donned their formal best for tonight’s ceremony, hosted by comedian Chelsea Handler and held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
Of course, this group of best-dressed stars are wearing more than just the standard fancy gowns and smart suits: they’re bringing a fresh, unexpected twist to the glamor of old Hollywood. With colorful hues, sculptural shapes and plenty of crystals, you could say these stunning looks kicked off awards season. Chase Infiniti wore a draped cream yellow Louis Vuitton two-piece with a high-waisted opera skirt and built-in cape. evil Star Ariana Grande continued to go Ginda pink, opting for a gorgeous beaded Alberta Ferretti gown with a tulle overlay.
Even the more understated look is outstanding. Take Mia Goth, for example, whose subtle and elegant Dior off-the-shoulder dress was just right. The same goes for Chase Sui Wonders and her simple halterneck Miu Miu gown in an intense red. However, other stars ditched the gown entirely, like Britt Lower, who donned a bottega Veneta backless textured top paired with high-waisted pants.
As for the evening’s distinguished gentlemen, modernity and timelessness also elevated the styles of suits and tuxedos. Paul Mescal is one of them. He paired a satin lapel Gucci tuxedo with a black satin V-neck T-shirt, adding a touch of cool to the classic tailoring look. Michael B. Jordan wore a crimson double-breasted pair, while Jacob Elordi wore a tonal Bottega Veneta outfit from head to toe, right down to his sparkly tie.
