For Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, memories are the ultimate luxury. This is the ethos behind Mémoire, her first foray into home and design, and one she has been quietly building for some time. Ahead of the brand’s official launch on May 12, the supermodel hosted an intimate dinner party for friends and collaborators at interior designer Alyssa Kapito’s Upper East Side home.
The gathering was as carefully curated as the collection itself, with guests including Burberry’s Daniel Lee (who also dressed Huntington-Whiteley at tonight’s Met Gala), as well as Ashley Graham, Imaan Hammam, Dree Hemingway and Phoebe Tonkin.
The evening began with a cocktail hour at 7pm, as friends walked into Kapito’s quiet and elegant residence bathed in soft nightlight. This is the ideal place to unveil the world of Mémoire, where pieces from yet-to-be-launched collections are interspersed with Kapito’s own unique furniture. “Style-wise, we’re very consistent,” Capito told Fashion. “We all appreciate antiques, but in a way that feels fresh — you can collect things that feel old, or you can make them cool. Rosie is very cool.”
Today, home means something completely different to Rosie. “Throughout my life, being at home has been really special,” the entrepreneur shared. Motherhood has also changed the way she holds certain objects, like the jewelry her partner Jason Statham gave her, the Tiffany hairbrush she chose for her daughter, and the handwritten letter her mother wrote when she passed her exams. “When I think about what I could save in a fire, that’s what I think about.”
