When in France, dress like a French girl, right? But Bella Hadid didn’t opt for a casual red lip or simple basics. Instead, she paid homage to Jane Birkin—albeit with a decidedly 2026 twist.
Just days after she walked the Fall 2026 Prada show in Milan (four times!), Hadid is already heading to her next show. Models landed in the City of Lights today, marking the start of Paris Fashion Week. While Hadid embraced Sciura style in Italy, she turned to quirky interpretations of Birkin’s signature in the late model’s homeland.
For lunch at L’Avenue in Paris, Hadid wore a simple base layer – a white turtleneck and mid-wash blue jeans that hit just above her ankles, paired with slim-fitting black loafers and beige socks. While Hadid’s sartorial foundation was perfectly French-girl style, Hadid’s eclectic look would have made Birkin proud: She layered an off-white knitted Isabel Marant tunic with a light brown housecoat with a dramatic white faux fur collar. Lest we forget her signature bangs, Hadid wore them in wisps on her forehead.
Since Birkin loves oversized bags, especially her namesake Birkin bag, Hadid chose a large brown Chanel In the Mix handbag. (Although Birkin’s bags are known to overflow, Hadid kept all of her stuff inside.) She completed the look with a pair of Tom Ford Jada sunglasses. While Birkin herself may not be a fan of bold, infinity frames, Bella Hadid takes creative liberties with her fashion inspirations. Jane Birkin would definitely approve of her sassy approach to personal style.
