Ego Nwodim to Co-Chair Whitney Museum Art Party in January 2026

The Whitney Museum of American Art announced Thursday that actress and comedian Ego Nwodim will co-host the Whitney Museum of American Art’s annual Art Party on January 27, 2026.

The event, hosted by Whitney Contemporaries, will take place in the museum’s Gansevoort Street building and will feature DJ sets by Raúl de Nieves and The Dare. The Art Party is a fixture on New York’s arts and philanthropic calendar, attracting young patrons, artists and figures from the worlds of art, fashion, entertainment and business who visit the museum’s galleries after get off work to enjoy cocktails, food and dancing.

Nwodim will serve as co-chair alongside artists Martine Gutierrez and Emma Safir, as well as Whitney contemporaries Steven Beltrani, Micaela Erlanger and Alexander Hankin. The 2026 edition marks Erlanger’s tenth year as co-chair of the event.

Whitney said this year’s art party will emphasize “bold expressions” of art, style and voice, with guests encouraged to wear vibrant prints and patterns. The evening was supported by sponsors including Aesop, Faena New York, Libertine and Maestro Dobel Tequila.

Best known for her seven-season run saturday night liveNwodim created recurring characters such as “Lisa from Temecula,” and she has also appeared in film and television projects for Netflix, Hulu and Disney. She recently received a Critics’ Choice nomination for her final season saturday night live.

Tickets for the event start at $275, with proceeds supporting the Whitney’s exhibitions, education and public programs.
