The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has now officially kicked off, and before arriving at the Croisette, attendees have to walk onto the runway – the Nice airport runway.
Over the past few years, Nice Airport has become a precursor to fashion’s famous red carpets. In many cases, this is even an opportunity for brand ambassadors to fulfill their contracts and showcase the brand’s latest merchandise. Last year, Pedro Pascal arrived in Cannes wearing Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato braid style, while Isabelle Huppert wore Balenciaga’s oversized sneakers.
Although the holiday season has just begun, we’re seeing some sneaky brands in celebrities’ airport looks. Diego Calva arrived in the coastal city wearing a full look from Ferragamo’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection, which included a pair of leather pants that might not be everyone’s first choice when flying, while certified Gucci girl Alia Bhatt paired it with a black Jackie bag and a Carolina Herrera cropped pant suit.
So far, though, neutral, cross-seasonal staples dominate style at Cannes Airport. Riley Keough, Simone Ashley and Barbara Palvin all opted for khaki trench coats – Keough and Ashley paired it with a white dress, and Palvin paired it with a button-down shirt, trousers and sneakers.
Despite her abundance of quiet luxury, Isabella Rossellini channeled bold travel style with her multi-coloured, multi-patterned loungewear (embellished with sequins, naturally). After all, why not travel in style?
