Welcome to day two of Shark Week!
Today on the show, actress Wunmi Mosaku joins Chioma in the London podcast studio where they dive into all things sinner— from how Wunmi got the job to the profound lessons she learned while playing Annie.
“My team said, ‘Ryan Coogler wants to see you in his next movie.’ I was like, ‘Ryan Coogler knows who I am?'” she recalled, recalling the moment she was first asked to audition. Fast forward to last week, and Wunmi received her first Academy Award nomination and won her first BAFTA.
Wunmi also spoke about why she chose to announce her second pregnancy at the Golden Globes and launch her own maternity line, Iyadé, which means “mother has arrived” in Yoruba. “I wanted to be present, and if I separated my head from my body, I wouldn’t really welcome the baby,” she said, referring to the difficulty of keeping her pregnancy secret. “It feels like you take them for granted. They’re right there with you.”
Plus, she hinted at what she might wear to the Oscars next weekend…listen above!
